Optical Drives Edit
The optical drive is better known as the disk drive ether being a blue-ray or standard DVD reader. Optical is referring to a laser that can read and write on an optical disk ether CD or DVD. The disks have tiny bumps and dips on them and the disk drive reads them as 1’s and 0’s which then converts the disks information to binary so the computer can display or play what is on it. Popular types of optical drives are CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD-ROM, DVD-RW, and Blu-ray drives.
